Our Divisions.

NATURAL RESOURCES

tsain-ko Development Corporation is the parent company of the shíshálh Nation’s economic development arm and is comprised of a number of corporations and limited partnerships involved in carrying out its four primary economic functions:

Natural Resources, Industrial Operations, Commercial Properties, Capacity Building, and Business Support.

Forestry.

Preserving the land and leveraging new growth.

Maximizing the Value of our Forestry Assets

tsain-ko Forestry Development Corporation is a shishalh Nation-owned company that manages forest licenses within the swiya, ensuring all forestry activity aligns with Nation values and stewardship priorities. With recent tenure acquisitions from major licensees, tsain-ko Forestry has grown to become the largest tenure holder in the swiya. tsain-ko manages all newly acquired
licenses fully independently, creating Nation-based employment and contractor opportunities in engineering, road building, harvesting and silviculture, while leading sustainable, culturally grounded forestry in the region.

Fishing.

Feeding the spirit, mind and body of all Nation members.

Supplying highly nutritious seafood to all Nation families is just the start. tsain-ko Fishing negotiates job training and career opportunities for Nation members into every leaseholder discussion, from Marine Operations to Accounting and Processing, helping to integrate our traditional ways of life into our work. In 2025, our team shared 15,000 lbs of Pink Salmon, 1,000 lbs of Halibut, 3,750 lbs of Prawn tails, and made a $100,000 investment in the purchase and processing of Food and Ceremonial Sockeye for our Nation families and events. Representing our traditional values and building a healthier community is at the heart of our operation.

Power Generation.

Harvesting energy with nature.

This project, started in 2015, included construction of the intakes, powerhouses, substations, and transmission lines. At the height of the project, tsain-ko Services employed over 30 Nation members and multiple Nation contractors.
