The Centre of the Sunshine Coast.

Building with the growth of our community.

The Sunshine Coast’s largest retail centre continues to grow and expand its formidable collection of top name retail brands, coffee shops and community gathering locations. tsain-ko Development Corporation began developing the centre in 2015, and since that time we have created what most locals would agree is the Coast’s singular one-stop-shopping destination.

Infused with shishalh Nation art, sculpture and decor throughout, the centre is a beautifully blended shopping and cultural experience. A large map of the shishalh Nation swiya (world) welcomes visitors to learn about our lands and culture, and original works from some of our Nations’ most talented artists enrich the environment like no other retail space.

Affordable Housing.
Inspired Living.

Creating living spaces where Nation members will thrive.

In late 2018, tsain-ko Properties applied for and was awarded $6.8 million from the BC Indigenous Housing Fund to address the need for affordable housing. Plans began in January 2019 for a multi-purpose building that would take a unique approach to social responsibility and reconciliation. Beginning with the name itself, the project celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the shishalh people, the interdependence and cooperation of the 5 clans (Bear, Frog, Orca, Wolf, Eagle), and features the work of multiple indigenous artists from the shishalh Nation.

Officially opened in summer 2024, Our House of Clans includes:

  • 34 affordable housing units, ranging from studios to 3-bedroom family units
  • A large multipurpose events room with community kitchen
  • The “Reconciliation Plaza” and gathering area
  • Five amenity areas, including a fitness room and entertainment spaces
  • Office space for community events and staff

A place of reconciliation.
The exterior plaza features a circular seating area overlooking the Salish Sea, centered by a totem entitled “Carving Tears into Dreams of Reconciliation,” by the late Master Carver, ?antuni Tony Paul.  Organized by the syiyaya Reconciliation Movement, Paul designed and carved the pole with over 1,500 members of the shishalh community, starting in June 2019.
